HELLO!
Growing up in a rural and coastal area, I was privileged to form a connection with the world outside. When I moved to the city for university, I felt very disconnected from nature. A place of concrete, constant noise, and where the only green and blue spaces were either highly managed or highly polluted, or often both. This is when I truly realised how much nature meant to me. It was not just something I was passionate about; it was something so deeply rooted into my identity and wellbeing that I realised I had to try and spend my life trying to protect it and ensure others have the same opportunities to connect with the world as I did.
This has led me into a career in conservation and nature campaigning. I am an ecologist ‘by training’, but I have recently turned my attention to campaigning and policy change, recognising that there is a huge need for more effective campaigning around biodiversity and nature.
